Palo Duro Canyon

Palo Duro Canyon
Visited by over half a million people from all over the world each year.

The canyon was created by wind erosion and water erosion from the Prairie Dog Town Fork of the Red River. This seemingly insignificant stream carved out a colorful, rugged canyon; some 800 feet deep and 110 miles long; exposing layers of ancient earth spanning about 200 million years of geological time.

Fireworks An internationally-acclaimed extravaganza, "Texas!" is performed in a natural amphitheater against a 500 ft. canyon wall backdrop, in majestic Palo Duro Canyon, the second largest canyon in America! Don't want to unhook? We'll arrange for a shuttle!
Cowboy For a real taste of Texas, check out the Figure 3 Ranch , one of the locations for the filming of Indiana Jones! You'll be served a genuine cowboy breakfast (or steak dinner) cooked over open mesquite fires while you gaze out over the rim of the majestic Palo Duro Canyon! Authentic cowboys will show you and the kids how to rope and ride!
